The Jesus Creed

w/ Paula Wipf – When an expert in the law asked Jesus for the greatest commandment, Jesus responded with the Shema, the ancient Jewish creed that commands Israel to love God with heart, soul, mind, and strength. But the next part of Jesus’ answer would change the course of history. Jesus amended the Shema, giving his followers a new creed for life: to love God with heart, soul, mind, and strength, but also to love others as themselves. Discover how the Jesus Creed of love for God and others can transform your life. Room 106 at 10:45am.

Journey Community Recovery

Meaning of Marriage

Starting Feb. 17th w/ Dan & Connie Hunter –According to the bible, all of these modern-day assumptions miss what marriage is all about. In The Meaning of Marriage, Timothy Keller, along with Kathy, his wife of thirty-six years, draws a profound portrait of marriage from the pages of Scripture that neither idealizes nor rejects the institution but points us back to the relationship between God and man. The result is a vision for marriage that is refreshingly frank and unsentimental, yet hopeful and beautiful. This book is for anyone from singles, to couples considering marriage, to those who have been married recently or for a long time. Youth Center from 6:30-8pm.

Love Is A Choice

w/ Cheryl Lenox – By Drs. Robert Hemfelt, Frank Minirth, & Paul Meier. These bestselling doctors walk you through their ten proven stages to recovery from codependency that results from external circumstances. Humans are susceptible to codependency because of our sinful tendency to use defense mechanisms to fool ourselves. In codependent relationships, deceitful games are played, and important Christian principles are often taken out of context and abused. God wants us to have healthy relationships with a balance between being dependent and independent. The doctors describe how the most effective means of overcoming codependent relationships is to establish or deepen a relationship with Christ Himself. They describe the causes of codependency, pointing out the factors that perpetuate it, and lead readers through their ten stages of recovery. Room 106 from 6:00-7:45pm.

w/ Jenny Wipf – Every woman was once a little girl. And every little girl holds in her heart her most precious dreams. She longs to be swept up into a romance, to play an irreplaceable role in a great adventure, to be the beauty of the story. Those desires are far more than child’s play. They are the secret to the feminine heart. And yet—how many women do you know who ever find that life? As the years pass by, the heart of a woman gets pushed aside, wounded, buried. She finds no romance except in novels, no adventure except on television, and she doubts very much that she will ever be the Beauty in any tale. Discover how God can fulfill all the areas in your life you were created for, and be your Hero. Room 106 from 7-8pm. For any questions or more information, contact Jenny Wipf at 307-689-6760.

It’s Not Supposed to be this Way

w/Connie Hunter – Have you ever struggled with the fact that your life doesn’t look the way you thought it would? Maybe you have this feeling that circumstances, relationships, and finances should be better than they are. And underneath it all, you’re disappointed. Yes, disappointment is a feeling we all have but few of us know how to process it or find God’s goodness in the midst of it. I understand. The last few years, I’ve had to face one hardship after another. At many points I’ve wondered how I would make it through. But God has been showing me rich truths that I want to share with you in my book, It’s Not Supposed to Be This Way. If you’re asking ‘God, why would You allow this to happen?,’ this book will help you stop being pulled into the anxiety of disappointment by discovering how to better process unmet expectations and painful situations. You’ll begin moving forward with peace and confidence, assured that God’s Word holds the answers you’re looking for. Youth Center at 1-2:30PM.
